Sumo Digital er et studie udvikling af videospil baseret i Sheffield i det nordlige England .
Historisk
Studiet blev grundlagt i 2003 efter lukningen af Infogrames Sheffield House (ejet af Gremlin Graphics Software ).
Studiet blev oprettet af Carl Cavers, Paul Porter, Darren Mills og James North-Hearn.
Sumo udvikler sig på alle de forskellige markedsplatforme og har nu næsten 1000 ansatte fordelt på 8 studier i Storbritannien, et studie i USA og et i Pune, Indien. Den 17. august 2007 blev Sumo Digital købt af firmaet Foundation 9 Entertainment .
I oktober 2019, meddeles oprettelsen af et nyt datterselskab kaldet Sumo North West .
I September 2020, meddeles overtagelsen af det amerikanske studie Pipeworks Studio og tilføjer 134 ansatte til Sumo-gruppen.
